Default 26" tires on a 48 volt

Is 26" tires on a 48 volt electric too hard on the motor? I am looking into getting a new cart and am not sure of getting a gas or electric.

Depends on the usage... Flat ground, hills, How many people, etc...

Unless you plan on upgrading your motor/controller, I would go with a gas cart!

Would 26'' tires be ok for a stock gas or would I need to replace the motor with a big block?

Depends on where you are driving it! We have 27's with a stock E-Z-GO motor, it works good.

I would be driving in my neighborhood and doing some offroad on my land. Electric and offroad would be a no go, right?

I would think not on 26's without changing the motor/controller! Gas you should be fine.

But with 22's or 23's you shouldn't have a problem with an electric!

26's are big tires either way you look at it, but they sure look good on!!

That is a sweet cart. I have an Ez Go with 6" lift and 22" tires now. I am trying to sell it. My batteries went bad and instead of replacing them and spending the money I want to get something newer with more power. I want something big and bad!

26" are BIG, and then it's hard to say if they'll be 26" tall when it's all said and done. My 27" tires measure right at 29", that's a little more than I wanted. My guess is a stock gas cart would only see top speed on downhills. Tires that size are heavy and have a lot of rotating mass, they take alot of hoursepower to turn. Tire weight plays a huge roll in all this, there's a big difference between the different brands/kinds. I wouldn't go over 25" on any stock cart and even then I would look for the ones that weigh less.
