Once they ban you from the golf course it isn't a golf cart anymore.

Cart is for riding around, with lift and tires maybe swap engine...you can ride over a lot of stuff a stock cart would not attempt. But its not an ATV or UTV really. I guess it could get close to a 2wd UTV but still its smaller and lighter and not good for hitting 50mph like most UTV can. 4wd UTV will go many places a cart can't, will go faster and more comfort, safer, etc., when it comes to speed. But a cart shines around people who tend to like them much more, its quicker to jump on and go unless you put a key start on it, it takes less fuel by far even with a larger lawn engine, it excels at poking around slower or going next door. For some uses its just plain got the advantage.

If I had to put a label on my cart I'd call it an LTV (Light Terrain Vehicle).

Well said. A modified cart replaces an atv, utv, suv, tractor, etc except at the outer reaches of each of the others' capabilities. They can't pull a two share plow or scoop manure, can't slog through knee deep mud or scale a mountain, or drive on road at 55mph. But in between they are quite useful and entertaining.

In 2013, I was on a BGW trail ride... (3rd time)
We always stopped at a pavilion on the trail halfway through the ride on the way to lunch and adult beverages,
and there were a number of Side by Siders there...

And when I pulled up, I heard one of them say, "Hey, look! ... a golf car on STEROIDS!"
So, if I were to "label" my cart.... that would be it!

There was no animosity, just a great bunch of people riding their machines.

Exactly. They're the motorized version of a Swiss army knife. I'd like to build a golf cart mower eventually. Something like a Roof Palomino. I have a deck, lots of brackets and salvage yard parts, a vert shaft engine to power the deck and enough spare golf cart and garden tractor parts to build it so why not? As soon as I finish several other projects I mean..

I just welded a hitch on an old push mower a while back it works pretty well for mowing trails.

I had a tow behind 44" Swisher finish mower for a while. Pulled it with my cart and various small lawn and garden tractors. The Swisher worked very well behind the EZGO except for getting in tight spots and going around obstacles. That's why I want a belly deck on it instead.

I have almost 3 acres of grass so I even put a 6 foot deck on my Ford 8N in case my other 4 mowers break down . It mows excellent. I have a deck for my 1/2 N project too.

This is my little '1/2 N' tractor. It's a work in progress. Almost done though. It's usually parked beside the full size 8N. I tell little kids it had a baby.

Not sure that's what I'm gonna do yet but when I finish up my cart (as soon as painting weather gets here!) I might do an 8N Ford theme with it and call it the 'Fore N'.

Forgot to mention my buddy said yesterday that a golf cart is as good at being an ATV as an ATV is good at being a golf cart. He thinks humping his way through a 4 foot deep mudhole with his snorkel equipped ATV is fun so he should know.

yep.. I like that..perfect.

was out on the property yesterday with the wife...so much rain recently that the place is one huge slickery mud pit...ANY ATV options wind up spinning a bit and slinging mud everywhere...we stayed out of the deeper water puddles, and the deep mud areas, but the cart did itself proud..plenty of torque to move us through muddy sections, and the larger wide tires stayed on top of most stuff pretty well...we made it out to 9/10 of our trail cams with no real problem...definitely a "LTV".
