I purchased a Steering Wheel Adapter and a Grant 701 Steering wheel from Cart Parts Plus. I just installed every today (thanks to dougmcp).

I am 6’ plus and it feels like the wheel is in my face. I can’t compare it to the old one because I discarded it. No big deal, I can live with it for now.

Must be a thick adapter or the wheel is a deep dish? I think it would be as simple as removing the shaft and cutting it down & rewelding and then trimming the cover?

Ya, that’s what I thought, I think the approved way would be to cut off the unwanted amount at one end and then have it re splined. But I am not going to get into this year.

Thanks for your input!

Club Car has shorter columns. 2-3". If you have any fab/welding skills, you can cut the shaft in the middle, grind a chamfer on the cuts, lay it in a piece of angle iron and weld it. Just cut the same amount off of the end of the aluminum tube.

It'll be MUCH easier to just get a different steering wheel...

You are correct! The five bolt steering wheel comes with a 3 bolt to 5 bolt adapter (stamped cone) that is about 2” thick. I think I will just buy a 3 hole steering wheel.

Thanks!
