Default Tires? 6” Lift. 22” preferred with a 10” rim

I have a lot of hills in the back. The grass is so tall my cart will spin out trying to go up ‘em. I need something that can cut through flattened grass and get some grip but, also, can roll up and down some gravel roads. Every so often I run into mud but not a lot. The kids take it on the street to visit friends but it is used more for the yard. I just put the lift on it and need tires now.

What do you have on the cart now? Go to the Site Sponsors and check out Golf Cart Tire Supply. They have some nice looking 10" Rims with 22" All Terrain tire combos. All terrain tires would probably be your best bet to give you added traction and not tear up your yard. They are also pretty smooth on paved streets too. I have 20" AT's with 10" wheels on my cart and I have no issues with traction. But I don't go mudding with it either. Is your cart gas or electric? With electric and stock drive system larger tires will reduce your torque making hills harder to climb if they are pretty steep.

It's a 48v CC Electric Precedent. I was using stock wheels. HORRIBLE traction, of course. After three punctured tires from those dang black locus or honey locus tree needles, I wanted to better my tires. I'm really thinking a 6ply tire.

Welcome to the madness. Wow those needles must be wicked . Sounds almost like you would need solid rubber tires . 6 ply are going to be a rougher ride. They have them at Golf Cart Tire Supply but I didn't see any combos so you would most likely have to purchase tires and wheels seperately. To keep torque you would need to upgrade to a higher amp controller and motor. For that you can contact David Hicks at Revolutiongolfcars.com. He is a site sponsor and fantastic person to work with. He can hook you up with whatever you need. Also another site sponsor Cartsunlimited.com. Scotty B has upgrade packages available too

Don’t forget site sponsor Steeleng. Picked up four 22x10 from them (4 ply) and couldn’t be happier. A lot of bad mojo talk about lost of torque when you go up. Well Steeleng combos were lighter then what I had prior. Needed no additional torque to start the tires in motion, or to keep them spinning.

Do one step at a time, and don’t believe everything you read (mine included.) Good luck.

Dave at Revolution is the resident CC guru and gives customer service that is second to none. He came up with the setup I have for use as a hunting cart. It's all in my sig, if you have any questions let me know. I got my wheels and tires from site sponsor https://www.ecartparts.com/. Good price and if you use the forum code, you get 10% off. They also have excellent customer service, which is why I have a spare wheel/tire...

What lift kit did you use?

I've used the steeling 6" on a few DS's now, it can fit a 25" tire so anything less than a 25 and you'll be fine. Gives you more options than 22's...

A narrower, taller tire will go through grass a lot easier than a wider tire will. If you're popping holes with the needles, get something heavier ply rating.

I'd recommend looking for used ATV tires on facebook or craigslist. If you go with 12" wheels instead of 10", there are tons of stock take-off like new ATV tires for cheap. I run 25x8x12 on the front and 25x10x12 on the rear and it goes through thick waist to knee high grass like nothing. The narrower front tires make steering easier as well.
