Default Noob - lift question - EZGO

Any advice on a suspension setup thats more off-road enjoyable? Like just dirt roads even with light bumps. This factory ez-go isn't cutting it around the land. Jake's long travel? Also who can tell what model this cart is? Thanks in advance

Long travel lifts are the best but expensive, your cart looks like a TXT with a body change, definitely 2001.5 or newer.
Looks like the rubber bushings are missing out of the rear springs too.. not helping the ride.

Todd,

My guess is a 2000+ (because of steering box) TXT with a Workhorse/ST front cowl on it. (Txt because of lift blocks as opposed to ST style rear end...)
It looks to have a standard "drop Axle/lift block" 5-6" lift kit on it. (also the rears springs are shot...note the "flat" as in no curve to springs and your bushings are non exisitent)

Cant tell if it PDS or Series drive from the pics......
Before you start changing things, check the serial number plate on the crossbar just above the battery tray just in front of the motor, it will tell you EXACTLY what model left the factory..

Hope this helps, maybe the Gurus will have better info

Model TXTPDS
Serial # 2256976

You guys are some major help! Appreciate the call out on the leafs and bushings. Def need to upgrade leafs, want to get away from blocks if possible.

Jakes LT is the way to go. It'll improve the ride drastically. Yeah good call on the rubber leaf spring bushings. Not much you can do to soften the rear unless you convert it to coil overs, that would require a panhard bar, not impossible though.

Would going with new HD rear springs, and "better" shocks on all 4 corners help take any of the hard impacts out?

I did a AllSport long travel, I've had Jake's before and this one does far better in my opinion. Added HD rear leafs and shocks with coils on them for a little bit more load capacity. The top 3 coils were removed and a rubber isolator was put in the delay some of the spring engagement.

If you don't like the ride don't get regular HD springs. Get the dual rate HD that have an aux leaf that is activated when you put a load on it.

can you provide any info or a source of this duel rate spring. I have been considering having a set of springs built at a local spring shop but they quote crazy high prices. they do mostly heavy duty trucks like semi's & 18 wheelers Thanks
