Default Opinions on Homemade Lifts

I've got a friend that has an EZ-GO that he lifted himself, welding pieces pieces together himself as opposed to buying a kit. It doesn't look bad at all and to the untrained eye you'd probably never know. He's a metal worker so he knows what he's doing but I'm wondering what you guys think? Has anyone gone this route? And if so what are your opinions on it. I'm thinking I could just buy a lift for my cart if I don't like it. But for the price I just don't wanna pass up on.

Not a problem if it is designed and built properly.

Sounds good guys. I trust him that he knows what he's doing. I can't wait to get it lifted. I'll post picks when it is.

If you can't get any, pull some off the internet somewhere and say their yours. I know plenty here that do it all the time.

Creebo,
We did our own lift on my old G1, it seemed simple enough. Unfortunately, we spent numerous hours moving shock supports and swapping shocks trying to get it right. If I had to do it again, I would buy a kit. As a matter of fact I did buy a kit for my workhorse.

Just my opinion.

Creebo... take heed of what he's saying... you should have seen the canopy he use to sport around on his Yamaha just a while back!!!
It wasn't pretty...
