Default Anybody Been To A Modded Cart Show?

Anybody been to a cart show and/or know how to judge carts, catagories etc.

I would like to organize a small show at the mx national I attend every year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I put my Marathon in a car show last Sunday. I entered it in a class called Extreme modifications/ Truck class. Took first prize. The truck guys were pissed.

What national are you talking about? I raced my pitbike at all the east coast tracks all the way over to Millville,MN (16hr drive).

yzeffer- yea, it is the Millville national that I attend each year. This would be my 18th year.
are you a YZ rider? By the looks of your member name you might be? I bleed blue, been on Yamaha since I was 15(44 now) My son rides a ktm now but hope to get him on a blue bike within 3 yerars or so.
I wish I had a G model cart but the ez I have was cheap and pretty easy to get 12" lift under.
Where you from?

I sent the idea to hold a pit vehicle show to the Springcreek staff on tuesday night but
so far no reply. They may be to busy with prep for the national July 18 to start plans for a new project.
oh well, I will pitch the idea earlier next year.
I waited till now to present the idea beacause I was still working on and testing my ezgo to make sure it was ready to bring to the national.

Yea I'm pretty fond of my yamahas. First bike was a Kawi KDX80, second bike a honda XR200 then I got my yz125(pile). From then tho I knew what I wanted and so I bought a YZ400F when I was 16. Loved that bike rode it and raced it all week, weekends, whenever I had a free moment. I still have that bike but I got a YZ450F also. Then the pitbike thing came up, Yamaha didnt build a very popular bike for pitbikes so I have a KLX110 dressed up in blue plastic.

I'd have to say Millville was one of the funnest tracks to ride on and the pro race was amazing. Big fan of the whoop section. It was about a 16 hr drive from western PA. A couple of us went up to highpoint last weekend. Kinda bummed that just about all the big names were not racing. I did enjoy the battle between Hot sauce and Reed. We left right after Tedesco stalled his bike in the corner right after Reed passed him.

yzeffer- looked up your past posts and pics, I see you put a lot of time into your build,
G9 right?
I didn't find any pics of a rolling chasis or completed job. Are you still in build stage?
I see a lot of tear down jobs on this site, and I don't know how you guys have the patience for a complete job?
I respect your determination.
I was lucky to find an older cheap cart that ran pretty good from the start.
If I did a complete tear down, I would have to have a usable cart also.

I built my cart with Millville national in mind. You can see that I opted for excessive mx stickers as opposed to good paint job. My son will be racing the mini track at least 1 more year after this and driving the cart back there with cooler, food and a place to sit is the only way to be comfortable. Plus if he crashes and doesn't want to ride the bike back to the trailer, I put it on a rack I made for the back bumper.
He spends far more time on the little track than I do on the big track so most time is spent back there. Besides I am to old to get out for more than 3 practice sessions on open ride days.
Enough trees around the little track back there to keep out of the sun, it's great. I see more and more of these tricked carts in the last 3 years and had to be a part of it.
Sold the atv to buy the ez and do not regret it. I live in a very small town so driving it around is no big deal.
Love having a project that is never really done. Next step is installing a stereo and lights.
I will probably list it for sale this fall, should sell pretty quick, we have a lot of guys around here that attend the Brainerd MN drag nationals and golf carts are very popular in the camp grounds.
The plan would be to get a 93 ez(last year for this same chasis style) since I know exactly how to lift it now. Eventually I would like to get a newer G model but I would have to pretty much re-design the front susp for big lift. I am spoiled with my 12" now,
I wouldn't be ahppy with anything less.

Post some new pics of your G9 when you get a chance.
