00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
I am looking for a used cart to upgrade. I found a 00 EZ GO electric PDS with new Bats and was wondering if this would be a good cart to upgrade with a lift kit and upgraded motor and controller and if so what would be a good size for each. The guy wants about $1200 for the cart

Re: 00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
If the cart is in good shape and the battery tray is not rotted, it's worth the $. As far as the lift kit and size tires; you will have to do some soul searching for the answer. Ask your self what do you want the cart to do or look like.

Re: 00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
Good point. I want a cart that can handle some decent hills and I will use it to hunt. going up and down somewhat manicured roads and doing a little trukey hunting. I really don't care how it looks. below are some pics of the potential ride

Re: 00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
Any suggestions on what to do to make this a hunting buggie would be awesome as well as some ideas of cost. I want to see if I can keep it under 3500. I can get the cart for about 1200.

Re: 00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
D&D motor and Altrax controller. I just quoted another member a price for $875 + shipping. That includes a D&D 502:1 motor and an Altrax DCX400 controller. With this combination, you shouldn't have any problems getting up hill. For another $100, he can get the DCX500 controller. I happen to have the 502:1 motor and DCX500 controller in my cat, and I can guarantee! the front tires will climb a straight wall with slight acceleration.
Let me know and I can get you the same deal. the guy I use is a good freind of mine and he cuts me a better deal than anywhere else. BTW - He can get lift kits and tires also :0) Mike |

Re: 00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
How difficult is the install? What kind of cost would be a lift kit and tires and would that be all I need?

Re: 00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
5" lift kit is around $280; I will have to check with my freind tomorrow.
Tires and wheels - 22X8X10 Goodyear Wrangler tire and black steel rime, you are looking around $80ea = $320 So if you wanted the Motor, DCX400 controller, wheels, tires and lift kit, you looking somewhere's around $1475 + shipping... However, I will have to confirm the prices. I'm always glad to help another buggy owner out whenever I can... Mike |

Re: 00 EZ GO PDS suggestion
This is my first venture. I am pretty mechanically inclined, but are there any pitfalls that I might encounter. From what I have been told not much can go wrong with these things besides the battery motor and controller so if I am redoing all of that is there anything else?
