Getting ready to clean this up! Chime in.
This was our introduction to golf carts. The guy was asking $1600, we got it for $800. My daughters are shown on it here. Here is what I know about it. It has 22x11x10 polished wheels, it has off-road lights, it has a home-made approx. 4" lift (they kind of hacked up some of the frame when making it), the motor is not stock - it is a two cylinder. It goes pretty good but the rear diff leaks a lot of oil. The cart did not have the frame or top and the upper cowl was hacked when they put the lights on. We have driven it pretty hard for two months now, but now that my other cart is rolling, we are getting ready to start re-doing this one. I found that the reason they cut away some of the frame is because the tires wouldn't clear the supports for the footwell.
Where would you guys start? I like the wheel/tire combo but it is tight for clearance. I plan on pulling the body off, pulling the motor out and then start the cleaning/identyfying process. I have been told that the motor is a cushman, but that is unsubstantiated. Once I get it out can you guys ID from pics? I am pretty green and new to this stuff so don't be shy, I'll take all the help I can get. MysteryMan |

Ok,
we took off the front end. Modified the front lift to take it up a couple more inches. We also moved the front end forward 1". I got new plastic for the hacked up lower front cowl. We relocated the off-road lights, cleaned up a bunch of ugly wiring. I pulled the leaky motor out. I later found out it was an EZ-go (robin, I believe). The previous owner sawed off all of the motor mount s and tabs to put in the robin motor. A great buddy of mine spent a Saturday placing and fabbing up some new motor mounts, with me. We dropped in the new Big Block, filled the oil, connected the battery and............................................... ........she fired right up!!! Paint is still a couple of weeks away. I did have to put it all back together for an event we are going to this weekend. I will post pics of its current condition in a day or two. MysteryMan |

That second pic makes it looks like it has a pretty bad camber issue. Is that what you meant by you redid the front? Great looking cart, especially for 800.00. Cant wait to see how this one turns into.

The front end had some camber issues. The big problem was that they had put on too large a tire and when you went full lock (or even close) the tire would rub the frame. To solve that issue, the previous owner cut away part of the frame, directly behind each front tire, to allow for tire clearance. The footrest area was, basically, unsupported. We had to weld in some support. We lifted the front a little more and then pushed it forward a little.

Ok, here is the next batch of pics. This is a "before" and "after"...the first is what the cart looked like with the home made lift the previous owner had made and the second is the modified lift we did a couple of weeks ago.
