Lights for Roof of Buggie
I am picking up a new Ruff and Tuff tomorrow. I got the roof rack on mine. i would like to mount 4 "KC" lights, or spot lights on the front of the roof rack and 2 on the back of the roof rack. any thoughts on this? ie- the wire needed to mount the lights and the impact it will have on the battery? i wouldnt expect to run them all very much, just when "varmit hunting" or loading a deer.

Re: Lights for Roof of Buggie
if electric I would run another 12 volt battery for those lights. they pull major amps and I would not want that drain on my battery pack.

Re: Lights for Roof of Buggie
soltek lighting aka bajadesigns makes a very small and compact light called the Feugo. made for desert racing these things rock. I have them on my rock buggy and they would be awesome on a golf cart.

Re: Lights for Roof of Buggie
thats a pic of our race buggy and for reference is around 42" wide at both sides. The Fuego's are 4" tall and look 30 times better than any ole silver KC light. |

Re: Lights for Roof of Buggie
Thanks for the info guys. just put the buggie to bed. getting a full charge for the night.
thanks for the info listed above. i dont think the lights would be on all that much, just night if i shoot a deer. and, we like to varmit hunt at night, so it would be good to light up what is around us. with that being said, keeping price range around 200-250, i would like 4 lights in the front and 2 in the back. any suggestions on what might be the best route? again, not worried too much about current draw as they will be on a min amount. |

Re: Lights for Roof of Buggie
I run four 55w halogens with the rubber covers on my sons EZ...I run them on 16v/2-8v T-875's. I run the factory head and tails on 2 other 8v's. Them have a huge spotlight that pulls off the last two. We only run lights when we have to and have ridden for over 4hrs. with no problems.
1997 48v ez aidans tank.jpg 1997 EzGo 48 volts 650 alltrax 4ga. wiring factory 36v motor I have also ran the el-cheapo tractor lights, also rubber shockguard cover, that worked great. |

Re: Lights for Roof of Buggie
If you use your cart for hunting be careful which lights you install. In Georgia the DNR will cite you for "shining deer" if you have spot lights and are using them. I'm installing some LED's up front along with a couple of 100w halogen spots. My excuse will be the spots are for general Illumination. What's yours.
