Default Yamaha G14 on 25's

This is the newest addition to the group of carts at the Lake. Good friends of ours got the G14 stock and added the lift, rims and 20" tires. That lasted one summer so now the fun begins.
We talked about what he wanted and he is like me, do it once and do it right the first time, here we go.

This is what we started with.

This is where he wants to go! 25-12X10's, Honda Blaster front end w/disc brakes.

First day was game plan:
Lower engine cradle support bracket 6" to level motor, Redrill cradle to move motor forward instead of shorter belt, install front suspension.
Piece of cake right?

Even with a 4" lift the cradle and rubber were in a bind.

Cut it off and will drop it 6" to level the engine.

Pulled the engine and redrilled the cradle 1/2" forward, now we have a so called 1" shorter belt with the stock belt.

that was it for today since I work evenings, here's the mock up...

More tomorrow. Mitch

Got the front cradle mount relocated 5" down from stock. This was needed because of the angle of the motor and 9" of lift going in.

The front braces will be covered with a piece of aluminum diamond plate to act as a shid plate.

With the front dropped straight down we still have plenty of room in the front of the fenderwell. We didn't want to have the cart in the clouds so we will trim the rear of the frame, weld in a patch plate and heat the plastic inner fender and stretch it back for tire clearance.
One thing anyone should do that we forgot is to start with a clean cart, I've eat enough dirt to grow a tater.

Spent the morning cutting the two frame sections out and welding in patch plates to clear the tires and keep the cart on the ground.
Something I don't care for is suspension lift that's not needed. Keeps the cart more stable. But that's just me

The frame will now cycle down to the original location without rubbing but it will never get that far.

Finished up the rear today. Spent alot of time trying other shocks from Yamaha Blaster to Harley Ultra w/air. Still the best feel was the stock shock.

The track bar brackets were removed and a cleaner tube setup was welded in place to get the track bar back up to horizontal.

Went from this.

To this.

Brake cable bracket was cut off and turned around and relocated 2 1/2" back because of the lift.

Before.

After.

Should finish all the little things tomorrow and head to the front.

Are the accel. cable and F&R cables going to be long enough after the motor drop?

Yep, Plenty of slack for both.
We test fit brake, accl., and shift cables yesterday but ran out of time cause of going to work. We will be reinstalling those items today and will post pics.
Thanks for the interest, If you need any other pics just ask, we are taking plenty but just posting what I think is the important stuff. Mitch
