royal ride update
Hi all,
It's been a while since I updated the pictures of the royal ride that I've been working on. I was originally going to paint it black with silver sides, but availability of paint here on the island determined that I would paint it with (what else) a boat paint called "Bounty" red by interlux. I rebuilt the hydraulic brakes, removed the 5 solenoid set-up and replaced it with a standard CC speed controller and multi-step potentiometer (thanks to A-D for the resistors!), installed a 9" lift and 12" aluminum wheels with 27" Bear Claws. I completely rewired the whole cart with 2 gauge wire and added a 48v to 12v voltage reducer to run the LED lights and satellite radio. I converted the 2 round headlights to 4 rectangle 55 watt driving lights that give plenty of light! I still have a lot of work to do to finish it up, but it's well on its way. The work has been going slow because of the nature of trying to rebuild the cart on an island without access to supplies without flying back to florida or mail order. Most companies and a lot of folks won't mail supplies to an FPO (Navy) address. (what ever happened to "Support our Troops"?) I only have a couple of pictures to send so far, but there will be more. Re: royal ride update
Awesome job on the cart. I have often wondered how one of those would look lifted up. Looks great and the red with white top looks great as well.

Re: royal ride update
Thanks for all the compliments! I'll get more pics posted after I get a little more done. There are a few things I wish I could have done better, but resources are limited here on the island. Once I retire, I'll take it to Maine in the summers for a little trail riding and Florida in the winters for a neighborhood and park cruiser! It should be fun...
