Why the Huge Mud Grips?
...on the front, anyway.
I have a Jeep Wrangler and love the off road, but I have big grips all the way around because I have power to all 4 corners of my vehicle. I know..... It looks really good to have the big grippers all the way around, but is it worth the negative effects to have them on the front? Why not put some same size ribbed tires on the front that would give you plenty of steering grip and keep it from sliding off of inclines? If you really do some mudding and I see plenty do, you are just packing out the tread on the front and with no way to sling the mud out, you are just creating unnecessary weight to the cart. Someone please explain if it's for any reason other than cosmetic. |

Re: Why the Huge Mud Grips?
If you are running mud packers please stay on the trail A good mud tire like mudlites or dirtdevils will not pack mud a mud packed tire is useless.

Re: Why the Huge Mud Grips?
That was basically what I was saying... that if they pack up, you have more trouble than if you had a slick steet tire.

Re: Why the Huge Mud Grips?
yes ...... everybody runs 4 the same. Maybe you can start a new trend? I'm just saying that the true mud tire has large lugs spaced far enough apart to sling the mud out instead of packing it .... check out the mud lites and the dirt devils...
We have a little clay in our mud so it is the worst kind! These tires sling it pretty good~ I find that I get some bite turning with these.... |

Re: Why the Huge Mud Grips?
Also, If you are as picky about your stuff as I am, you can rotate your tires to maintain even wear. Especially if you ride your cart on as much pavement as I did my street legal lifted cart. You cant do that if you run different sizes.

Re: Why the Huge Mud Grips?
skinny tires in the front will drive them into the mud, floatin' over is better! Yes

Re: Why the Huge Mud Grips?
I know what you are talking about. I can't fully rotate the tires on my Jeep since they are a directional pattern. I can only move the front to back/back to front - same side.
