Clutch problems
Well my clutch is giving me trouble i have a comet duster 94c on my briggs 18 and i doesnt engage fast at all it just spins and i creep at about 2mph unitl it slowy enages and i get about to about 20mph and that it but when in nuetral and i hit the govener it engages quickly is it not adjusted right or what??? thanks

It came with the engine, it's actually a comet clone. It's supposed to be fully
adjustable and handle up to 40hp. I have never touch it. It runs great! |

I would hook up a tach before you start adjusting the clutch. I think your briggs govenor is messing up your engagement and top speed.

I agree with Clay. It sounds like the governor is the cause of the problem. I am not familiar with the governor setup on this engine, but I would completely bypass it or adjust it and test the results.

ill give it a shot when i hit the governer to bypass it the clutch grabs right away what rpm is it governed to can it be adjust without the tach i dont have money for a tach right now but i will once i ship my old g9 motor i got $100 for it so i will get a tach then
