Default EZGo Gas Capabilities - What can a cart do?

I think I originally posted this question in the wrong section. Hope you guys can help me out.

I am considering purchasing an EZGo ST Sport 2+2 GAS cart to drive around on desert and forest dirt roads. These roads will be passable by passenger car so nothing crazy, just exploring. In Cali most of the dirt roads still require a street legal vehicle and I am looking at a 2007 EZGO gas that has a California Plate.

What can I expect out of this cart? Can it run all day at top speed? Do they overheat easily? Are they really for putting around golf courses with a lot of breaks or can they be driven for a couple of hours straight?

Also what top speed can one expect from a 2007 EZgo sport 2+2 with the gov. removed?

Thanks so much for your help. Jill

Yes he has some nice carts, but the whole Cali legal thing really restricts me to purchasing a used cart that someone got plated before the law changed.

Thanks,
Jill

You guys have to help me out on this one. My husband thinks I am crazy and probably wants me to buy a Jeep again. I really hate towing a jeep and I would not use it as a daily driver so storage is a pain. Thought the cart would be easy to throw on the trailer and tow behind my sprinter/camper van.

The 350cc carts are bullet proof! I wouldn't "remove" the govenor, but they can be adjusted to run around 20 - 22mph, depending on tire size. Check the engine compression of the used cart, you want at least 165lbs in each cylinder. A full service would be a good idea as soon as you buy it - make sure you adjust the valves to .004.

Hope this helps...

MIKE I think she was more interested in finding an answer to this kinda stuff?

Ummmmmmm...

I don't think any gas cart will run for hours with the govenor removed? I do think that when properly adjusted that you'll be able to drive it all day w/o any problems.

The ST Sport 2+2 is a purpose built vehicle. It is heavier duty than the standard golf cart. It is a great platform for a work / utility cart. No, I've not heard of any overheating issues.
