Best lift type for hunting cart
I am going to lift some carts for hunting carts. I need to know which would be better, as far as strentgh and durability. Never seen a long travel in person, like the looks but don't know about the front tire sticking out that far. would like some input? thanks

Re: Best lift type for hunting cart
I think you may have partially answered you own question here. if you get an LT front be sure to carry a chainsaw, axe, machete, or something like that when trail blazing. carts are already wider than quads and if you go to wide you might as well just drive your truck instead. whhat kind of cart are you wanting to lift?

Re: Best lift type for hunting cart
I have a 94 ezgo medalist series cart, and a club car not sure of year on it.
Looking to run 22" or 23" tires. I'm leaning towards drop axle, because i have heard spindle lifts were weaker. |

Re: Best lift type for hunting cart
I would go with a drop axle on the ezgo, the spindle lift aren't necessarily weaker they just have the ability to put alot more stress on your axle, tie rods and steering box than the drop axle. kinda like using a breaker bar to loosen a stuck bolt/nut only the bolt/nut is the rest of your steering system. forr about 3 or more times the cost of a drop axle you can get a LT front that's the same width as a drop axle. I guess you can figure if you need that or not, at slow speeds it won't make much difference.
someone else can tell you about the club car, I don't know what's good about them other than they work well on the golf course |

Re: Best lift type for hunting cart
I have an 03 CC with a 6' spindle lift and 22' tires. Its a major improvement over stock for trail riding. I use mine mainly on old logging roads it works great. I've never riden a drop axle so I can't compare, but mine is totallly satisfactory with me. It gives clearance to drive over fallen limbs/small trees. Timber co. cut some of our property last year and I can ride over the pine stumps without dragging. I wish I had bought tires that were not so wide. They just cause more rolling resistance and noise. (Avatar shows the tire wheels I'm talking about on an older ezgo I also have)

Re: Best lift type for hunting cart
I have a 6inch spindle lift by jakes and 22inch duro tires its a stock IQ car and it does rather well in the wooded trails.Ihit a tree in the woods with my car and never hurt the kit.Ihave used spindle lifts on EZGO also and they seem to work out ok,have not had any complaints.I have not used the drop axle kit yet but I am sure it works good to.
