Jake's Long Travel
I have a jake's long travel kit on my G8. I was wanting to drop the rear swing arm and order long travel shocks for the rear. I was curious if anybody runs their jake's long travel kit at the full 8" lift position and if there are any problems associated with it. Any help would be appreciated before I order the new coil overs for the rear .

Re: Jake's Long Travel
I have mine set at 7" to level or have front a little lower. The rear is lifted around 8-9", I have not remeasured since changing a few things. I don't see any problems. What brand of shocks will you be using?

Re: Jake's Long Travel
Haven't decided yet. It seems there are many different ones people on here use. I would like to get rid of the Jakes goal post and have just the coil-overs. Any suggections on what would be the best shocks to go with?

Re: Jake's Long Travel
The present Jake's shocks will be to soft for the rear, they are in the process of getting some different ones. I have the goal post plus longer shocks. Wicked and a few others could point you in a better direction on brand.

Thanks for the help . Maybe Wicked will chime in later. I also would like a locking differential but haven't seen one for the G8's. I wish jakes would hurry up with the front disc brake kit!!!!

Re: Jake's Long Travel
I'm installing a set now on my Yamaha, but it is actually ezgo nolifted kit. I'm waiting on getting the new steering in before installing the rest of the brakes. It did change my camber, other than that I don't see any problems using that kit.

Re: Jake's Long Travel
Awesome, I'll have to keep an eye on you thread for updates. Good to know I can modify one of the other kits to work. Did it bolt on pretty easy, or did you have to do a bunch of modifying?

Re: Jake's Long Travel
It bolted right up. I did have to cut the bushing for each side and order new hubs to fit. You may need to do some fabbing to attach the tie rods.

Cool. I just talked to Rick at http://www.wheelsca.com/ and he said their Yamaha kit should be complete and ready to go in the next week or two.
