Gas or Electric?
Hey Guys,
I hate to ask such a basic question, but I am starting from scratch and would appreciate your experience. I am looking to purchase a basic stripped down club car. I will use it for hunting, neighborhood cruising, and pulling my little john boat down to the lake (not heavy pulling.) My questions are simple. Should I go gas or electric? Are they similar in power, top end, and torque? Can gas be made quieter for hunting? Thank you in advance for your responses as they will greatly help me to get started! |

Thanx scottyb... I was positive it has been discussed at length, but being the rookie that I am I didn't know where or how to find the threads. Thanks again bud.

I used the search box in the blue band at the top of each page ...
It seems that noise and range will be your deciding factors... |

Re: Gas or Electric?
Gotcha! I will admit. After looking at all the websites, forum threads, and modifications out there I am a bit overwhelmed at actually all that this project could entail. I just want to make sure that I narrow my choices down so that I am building or modifying a cart to fit my needs. I appreciate your hospitality and will patiently wait for my pm privileges to activate.

You are at the right place.....
If it can be done, Some member has done it and we have documented and discussed it, pros and cons...... We are golf cart nuts. Some are certified techs others are shear madmen with outstanding fabrication skills... Most of us fall in between...... enjoy the site |

Re: Gas or Electric?
I would go gas. Each has its own but I prefer gas. Electric only if you want complete silence..
To be honest, you will need to drive one of each to decide what you like. |

Re: Gas or Electric?
Thanx BlackDeath.
Are there any mods or ways to quiet down a gas cart? Dynamat under seat and around undercarriage? Mufflers or exhaust options? There has to be something someone has done to quiet a gas cart to hunt with....... Anyone? |
