g8 lift
i just picked up a 1990 g8 in good shape but it smokes, so I will rebuild it. I want to lift it and put on at least 22" tires, and install a rear seat (or maybe stretch it and put both seats facing forward). I was wondering if anyone has built their own lift or long travel kit for one of these. I have built and raced dirt modifieds for years so not afraid to dive in but also know that sometimes it is easier to buy and bolt on. Any tips on what to do or not to do would be great. Is this a good choice for such a build. Thanks for any input.

Re: g8 lift
So is a g8 a good canidate? Will this stock engine do the job? When I lift the front should I go forward around 3"? Do I need to add any caster for stability?
Thanks |

Re: g8 lift
I think a G8 is great candidate. Jake's makes 6" A-arm lift kits and long travel kits for a G8 or you could build your own. Just depends on how crazy you want to get. Stock motors have decent power and there are always easy clutch upgrades you can do along with governor adjustments to pep them up a little. The only limit is your wallet.
