Default lifting with 400ex SINGLE shock

ok so i got some 400ex front shocks to lift my G1 and went to put them on the rear. Found out that the clutch hits the frame so i need to dent it a bit (no big deal). but i also found that with 2 400 ex shocks on the rear its VERY stiff suspension ....like as in it doesnt move because its too much spring for it. Now i know it was just my weight (about 200lbs) but when i took one shock off it was about right for the weight of the spring. has anyone fabbed up to run a single 400ex shock? how did it work for you. Now i know that i wouldnt have the load capability so i was thinking about using the stock shock(or shocks) as over load springs so once it got to a sertian point of sag it would help it out. just seeing if it has been done before because i want a soft suspension for running the fields and fire roads but also would like some load capability.

Do your shocks have any room for adjustment. I just picked up a pair for my electric cart with about 6" of lift and they seem perfect. They compress about 1.25" with the wight of the cart. I am very pleased with the ride running both shocks.

BTW mine are set somewhere in the middle. Other users have said they are too soft on the lowest preload setting.
