CC Arm or Spindle 6" lift?

Researching 6" lift kits for my 2004 Precedent. Which is better to go with the "A arm style" (not the jakes long travel style) or the "spindle style"? From the ones that i am looking at there is less than $100 difference between the two kits.

Tell us how your going to use it? If it's for looks only, I'd do a spindle lift, if it's for off road use, I'd look real hard at a long travel.
Hard to tell which kits your looking at though??

I'm going to vote for an A-arm style of suspension. Two reasons:
1. Almost no bump-steer, i.e. when you hit a bump and the cart turns on you!
2. Looks bad *** and nobody knows how smooth it is to ride/drive.
(#2 is actually 2 good things but I like to group)

Off road or on the street, you will have lots of choices and opinions, I went with my gut and wallet, just like you should do. Either way, you will get the cart you want, and be proud to drive it around! Take care!!

Looking at jakes 6"spindle kit and A arm 6" kit that is abit $70 more. Although the long travel kit from jakes looks awesome i don't think I need to spend that much cash for what I will be using it for. As for my use it's more or less for looks. I got the car to run around the neighborhood with the kids and the occasional camping trip so pretty tame use. Really don't like the sound of bump steer.
I asked the place that sells the spindle kit what they thought since they say they sell both and they said the A Arm kit looks better but isn't worth the extra money and that for the precedent the spindle kit is the way to go. But I have built many many lowered and raised vehicles and I have never seen a spindle that is as good as an A Arm kit and am thinking the same would hold true for this as well. And according to you guys with experience here it sounds like the A Arm style kit is the way to go. Thanks for all the help.

Bussted, Just remember that the true cost of something is hard to determine. I am totally satisfied with my Jakes Long Travel, but it was not a wise monetary choice at the time. I do believe that as the years go by and I keep this cart for more than a few of them, I will still be satisfied that I made the right choice. There is something for everyone out there, pick yours and have fun, don't worry too much about what everyone else is doing. My next concern is braking, especially if there are going to be younger drivers or a full load of people/gear. Lifted carts with no brakes is not good. Maybe a happy medium is a 6" spindle lift with 23" tires and a disk brake setup?

BTW, I recently installed a Jakes 6" on a yamaha, and the quality is very good, I would bounce that cart anywhere and not worry about breaking the frontend!

Thanks for all the input man. I know the basics and not gonna really be able to research it much more without actually seeing for myself. So gonna think a little more on it and just got for one or the other. The spindles are pretty cheap and am kinda thinking bout giving it a shot since if i don't like em i suppose i could always yank em off and sell them to get some money toward the other kit. Yes don't want too go too crazy with it and it has to be safe.

Check buggies unlimited's prices, I just bought my second 8" a-arm lift and it was around 400 for complete kit w/ heavy duty springs front and rear. Looks cool also.

Jake's Golf Carts

Our Jake's spindle kits are made of ductile iron. This material is 3 times stronger than gray iron. This is the same material used on Class A motor homes and 18 wheelers. We have engineered a bump steer kit for the non-lifted carts and our newly designed spindle lifts come with bump steer built into the kit. Hope this helps.
