How to remove windshield fastner
Another question. Could someone give me advice on how to remove windshield fastener on a 1995 CC. It appears to be some type of rivet with rubber on both sides. I am taking the body parts and aluminum pieces to auto body shop on Monday. I probably could use hacksaw blade but thought there might be a easier way.
Thanks Phil |

I can't tell exactly what type of rivets they are in the picture. You could always just drill the centers of the rivets out with a drill bit and they will come right out.

Re: How to remove windshield fastner
I'm not sure what you have, but won't loosening the screw relax the rubber, and allow you to pull the fastener back out of the hole?
Sorry, on second look you said rivet, not screw. |

Thanks guys. I think I will either try to drill out or cut off. I will have to be so carefull of plexi glass.

Re: How to remove windshield fastner
Turned out to be pretty easy. Just drilled them out. They are all plastic inserts.
Phil I should be able to pick up at locale cart shop. |
