I will be building up a couple of carts that we use to run around with at our campground. I have wanted to do this FOREVER. I look forward to having some fun with these things, and I am open to any suggestions or information that people are willing to offer......

The first cart will be a 2002 G-19....It's going to get a 6" A-arm lift from Jakes. Wheels and tires will be 22"x11"x12" pictured below. We already installed a headlight kit. This winter, I will focus on paint and possibly some other goodies like bumpers, seats, etc.



The second cart is a 2004 G22.....it will get a 6" Jakes Spindle lift. Wheels and tires are 23"x10"x14's. I also ordered a set of Gmax headlights. This cart will more than likely get a little more attention to parts and detail.




Here is a side by side comparison of the 23" tire with 14" wheels against a stock Cart wheel and tire.

Well, my lift kits finally showed up, but I am still waiting for a couple of the 14" wheels and tires to arrive. I decided to install the spindle lift yesterday, during my lunch break. It was a slightly longer break than I had expected, but lunch was good and I was able to drive my cart back to work afterwards.....win win for me. Chock that up to good planning...haha

During the install I noticed that the coils on the front shocks of my G-22 look like they have seen better days. With just the weight of the cart sitting on the suspension, the front end droops a couple inches. That leaves less than 1 inch of travel remaining in the shock, not good news. It is also noticeable in the tires cambering in at the top. Bottom line, the suspension is sagging a little more than it should be. I am wondering how these G-22 suspensions are set up at the factory. With such little travel, roughly how much droop should they have, or should they have any at all? I realize I can simply buy replacement coils and use my spring compressor to replace them. However, is there a better approach, maybe aftermarket coils or something completely different? Just looking for suggestions before I address this.

With that said, here are a few pics I snapped off on my camera phone. Fairly random pics with no real story or step by steps, but I know that you guys like your pics, so take them for what they are...a feeble attempt at acceptance....haha

Got cart # 2 lifted today. The G-19 just seems to work MUCH better with the lift installed. The G-22 is just not growing on me the way I thought it would. Not sure if I like the bigger 14" wheels and the suspension seems to have some issues that will need working out....anyway...couple pics.

I didn't even look at it to consider. I may give it a try just to see. However, I am considering buying or fabbing up a tube bumper for it instead.

Bumpers still fit both carts. I am still dealing with the G-22 suspension issues, but hope to have it ironed out soon.

On a side note:

I have numerous utility vehicles that we use in our Campground, Golf Carts, Tractors, John Deere Gators, Etc.

I have always had issues trying to keep the vinyl seats decent looking, especially the white vinyl of the golf carts. Yesterday on a whim, I grabbed some SOFTSCRUB cleaner from the shelf, and I was really impressed with how well it cleaned up the dingy white vinyl. I just used a washcloth and a little elbow grease. Even with very dirty seats, that would not cleanup well with normal soap and water, the results came out looking every bit as good as new, simply amazing. I probably would not use this as a routine cleaner, because it is fairly aggressive, but for very dirty vinyl it really did a great job removing the stains and grime. I just thought I would pass it along.

Here is the end result on the dirtiest of all the seats in our small fleet.
