Delayed clutch engagement?
What can be done to delay the clutch engagement (EZGO) so the engine has some torque built up when the load comes on? Not just a little bit like is done so the cart can idle w/o creeping. I'm talking about ~2000 RPM before it puts the squeeze on the belt.
Is the driven pulley machining trick worth the $$$ and effort? What order should I be looking at doing CVT mods for the budget minded person? |

Re: Delayed clutch engagement?
The guys at http://www.cartpartsplus.com/ have spring kits for both your clutches that do exactly that. Plus replacement ramps for your worn out ones.

Re: Delayed clutch engagement?
Engagement is controlled by the length of the spring in the primary. You can try to shim or stretch it longer for higher engagement....or buy a spring of course. The secondary controls mostly how it backshifts and belt tension. The primary weights with the spring strength control top shift rpm, but the length is mostly when it hits the belt.
