Lifting a 99 txt ez Am I forgetting anything?
I am putting a 6 inch all sport spindle lift on my 99 ez txt. It will have 10 inch steel rims and 22 turf legal tires. I plan on using the cart in my neighborhood and golfing only. My cart goes like hell now. Its a 36 volt. With the bigger tires should I be concerned with losing torque? Am I going to hurt anything running it like this? My top speed is okay but the torque will almost spin the tires now. I just want to be sure Im not going to burn anything up out of the gates. Thanks for any info.

Is your cart a DCS, PDS, or series cart ...... You will notice a loss of torque in a series cart it will be a nuisance ~ In a dcs cart it could cost you a controller......
Are you forgetting anything? Cable upgrade F&R upgrade Controller upgrade & Solenoid upgrade Motor upgrade Brakes upgrade LOL .... |

I have a 99 with the f and r switch under the seat and a tow maint switch. I assume its a dcs. Does that mean I need to switch the controller?

I checked and my controller is a curtis 73144G01. Would it be a good idea to change the controller now before I wreck mine, or wait and see what happens once the 22s are on?

I'm running 21s on my 99 dcs cart, no issues yet, no overheating, nada, its just a stock 36V 99 Medalist.
I guess I'll wait and see what happens. |

Re: Lifting a 99 txt ez Am I forgetting anything?
Both of you DCS guys need to pay close attention to your PACK VOLTAGE.
I can not emphasize this point enough. The DCS system works good until you try to run it on low voltage. Low voltage being anything under 36v. Evey DCS cart should have a SOC meter installed and the operator should know how to read it under load. DCS is a torquey little set up but it has this one flaw. They cook controllers in low voltage situations. Hope this helps....... |
