36v or 48v
I am going to buy a cart from a guy that lifts them and makes hunting buggies our of them. He is pushing the EZ-GO because that is what he perfers but the club cart is 48v versus the EZ-GO being 36v. I am bascally going to be using this to go to the deer stand and back to the truck. No really rough terrain or atleast not on a regular basis. I did not know which way to go I am not partial to either on I know they are both great

Re: 36v or 48v
I myself prefer a 48 volt as it has more torque even as a stock cart. Also all the big 3 have gone to 48 volt cars now.

Re: 36v or 48v
A cart that utilizes 36v to a 36v motor will perform the same as a cart using 48v to a 48v motor. They were both designed to run 14mph on a golf course. Now running 48v to a 36v motor is the REAL performance option, and increases both torque AND speed.

Re: 36v or 48v
It's hard to tell you which would be better with such in info about the carts?????
First of all you need to tell us everything about these carts?? What mods have been done to these carts, tire size? controller? year of the batteries? year of the carts? how far do you need the cart to go ?? |

Re: 36v or 48v
I am looking at a 2005 EZ-GO and a 2005 Club Car the EZ-GO has the 36v and the Club Car has the 48v. They have both been lifted and larger aggressive tires on them. Both have 2007 batteries. I did not know if there was enough difference. The Club Car is about 400 dollars more.

Re: 36v or 48v
I've got a 2007 EZ-GO. I just replaced the batteries that came in it. My 07 batteries would barely make an 18 hole round of golf. You'll probably not get much more use out of those batteries since they are already 4 years old, especially since you'll be turning larger tires and doing so on the trails. But if they are both 07 batteries, then you'd be replacing 8 if you went with the CC anyway, so may as well go with the 36 volt cart and upgrade to 48v after you get it. I love my upgraded 48v EZ-GO. Just my .02.

Re: 36v or 48v
You asked ...... so here is my opinion
Hunting buggies with stock drive systems are not worth owning. First thing you need to do is find one with an upgraded controller, solenoid, and all cables 4 gauge or bigger. And even a motor upgrade. We see these buggies broke all the time and people like you who unknowingly bought them having to spend up to $700 complete the upgrade...... Bottom line is you can not just slap a lift and big tires on a stock cart and expect it to perform for any length of time off road without upgrading the drive system.......In a cart like this ~ all you will be hunting is trouble. hope this helps. |
