'99 workhorse going big
OK GUYS, I HAVE NOW STARTED ON MY THIRD CART. YOU MAY HAVE SEEN MY FIRST ONE, I HAVE SOME PICS POSTED OF IT. THEN AFTER TAKING MINE HUNTING A FEW TIMES AND CARRYING OUT A DEER MY BROTHER DECIDED HE WANTED ONE. MY BROTHERS CART IS A MID 90'S WORKHORSE I PICKED UP FOR $200. (http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...e-project.html) WE HAVE JUST FINISHED UP REPAIRS TO THE FRAME. NOW A FRIEND OF MINE WANTED ONE. I FOUND HIM A '99 WORKHORSE COMPLETE WITH MOTOR AND ELECTRIC TILT BED FOR $500. THE CART DID NOT RUN WHEN WE PICKED UP. WE PUT IN A NEW BATTERY, SPARK PLUGS, AND FUEL FILTER. IT TOOK US A FEW MINUTES AND WE FIRED THE MOTOR AND SHE HAS NOT MISSED A LICK SINCE.
WE ARE WAITING FOR THE LIFT KIT TO COME IN WHICH SHOULD BE HERE IN A DAY OR TWO. WE ALREADY GOT THE 27" BOGGERS READY. SO, I SHOULD HAVE SOME MORE PICS AS WE PUT THE HIGH 5 LIFT ON IT. |

Re: '99 workhorse going big
What engine are you going to use to turn those 27 inch tall monster tires?

IT HAS THE 350 IN IT. WE ARE GOING TO SEE HOW IT DOES STOCK. IF IT SEEMS TO HAVE A HARD TIME THEN WE ARE GOING TO SEND THE CLUTCH TO CPP. THEN IF IT STILL NEEDS MORE WE WILL SWAP GEARS. AND THEN IF IT STILL NEEDS MORE WE GONA BIG BLOCK IT.

Re: '99 workhorse going big
I can tell you right now the 11 hp stock motor will not turn those 27 inch tires to your satisfaction No mods to improve the performance short of the 295 head conversion, will come close to powering up those wheels.... I'm turning 25 inch tires with 25hp.... now, that works

Re: '99 workhorse going big
WELL, I UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR POWER, BUT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO ALL THIS STUFF AT DEALER COST. I HAVE TO PAY FULL RETAIL FOR EVERYTHING. SO A FEW THOUSAND HERE THERE JUST IS NOT IN THE BUDGET. I DO WHOLESALE HEATING AND AIR FOR A LIVING, SO I KNOW THE MARK UP ON THING FOR RETAIL. BUT, THE CART IN THE PICS WITH THE TILT BED IS NOT MINE. BUT, THE ONE I POSTED A LINK TO IS MY BROTHERS WHICH IS GETTING A BIG BLOCK . NOW ON MY CART, I MAY BE GOING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH PERFORMANCE V-TWINS ABOUT PUTTING A CHARGER ON MY MOTOR. I'M THINKING OF GETTING RID OF LEAFS AND DOING A ROCK CRAWLER SETUP AND ROLL IT ON 27'S. MOST ALL OF MY RIDING IS DONE ON THE STREET IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD OR AT THE MILLEDGEVILLE THUNDER RALLY. SO I DON'T NEED BIG POWER OR SPEED.
