5" lift with stock tires?
Other than looking slightly retarded what will happen if I put a 5 inch drop axle lift and leave the stock tires until I have the money to by rims+tires?

Re: 5" lift with stock tires?
Here's a pic of my 88 with a 5" lift with stock tires. I was waiting for my rims and tires to arrive. My avatar shows the cart with the new tires. I'm still waiting for hte centercaps to get here. 22 X 11 X10 with machined aluminum wheels.

Re: 5" lift with stock tires?
I drove mine for a couple weeks, the lift is not that much figure tire diameter is the other half of the lift. I was doing burnouts all over with the stock tires, sometimes I miss that.

Re: 5" lift with stock tires?
Slightly retarded - haha, I like that. Unless you need it lifted for some actual purpose, why not just wait until you have all the pieces before installing it? It won't hurt anything just sitting in the box right? Once you order your rims and tires, installing the lift will give you something to do to kill the time while waiting on them to arrive. I went the other way and ordered the rims/tires first. They are just sitting in the boxes until I decide on and buy and install my lift kit.

Re: 5" lift with stock tires?
Go for the pre-88 front springs. They are 2" longer,it really changes the look, and gets the front wheels out from under the dash-panel
