Default Rigged add-a-leaf?

I recently bought some brand new pre-88 springs. Well come to find out when I went to replace them my old springs were already pre-88. So I got to thinking and I though if I split the pack and put the short half of the new pack in the front and put the long half in the rear I could get a little more lift and half-way heavy duty springs.

I am not sure how excatly to remove the springs from the pack and do I reattach the donor springs to the other packs.
