Precedent lift project (wish list stage)....
Howdy folks! I'm plannin' on goin' up with my CC Precedent in the near future and I just wanted to get a few opinions and some input if yall don't mind.
She's a 48v cart set up fairly low now with 12" wheels, low-profile tires, HD rear springs, and a high-speed motor (She topped out a 32mph on a slight down hill grade according to my gps). But I want to change her stance. I've pretty much decided to go with 6' A-arm lift from Allsport, I'll keep the same wheels, but I haven't made a decision on the tires yet. I reckon that all depends on how tall of a tire I can run... I figured I could get away with 23" at the most but someone told me I could go up to 25" if I wanted. Any truth to that? This is what my cart looks like now... These are a few of the tire choices I'm lookin' at... I use my cart in the "Hood" quite a bit too so I'll be on pavement as well as mild/medium off-road. But I'm also a little bit woman in the sense that I'm not so much concerned with how comfortable the shoes are, as long as they LOOK GOOD! Anyway, any comments/advise/opinions are welcome.....and probably needed. Thanks! CB Last edited by ColdBeer; 01-06-2011 at 10:30 AM.. Reason: Hit the wrong button. |

I would guess that all but the first one is going to ride bumpy and noisy on the street.

Yeah, I kinda figured that. The 1st one is actually my 1st choice, but it only comes in 25" and I'm not sure that will fit.

That's a lot of tire to turn.... what is your power situation?

Re: Precedent lift project (wish list stage)....
Man, I'm not really sure about the power situation other than the 48v w/high-speed motor. I'm a novice when it comes to carts. I came across a great deal on the cart and the only mods I did at the time of purchase where to add the HD rear springs and the wheel/tire pkg.
I do know that the motor seems to "step" up in stages the longer the juice is put to it.... |

High speed is one thing, torque is another. And thats what you will need. I would also think that 25" tires will fit with a 6" lift but I cant promise. You could get the lift and tires but dont be suprised if you come back here asking about more torque A controller will solve that

So.... the plot thickens.
Well I reckon I need to do a little more research on what I have, what I want, and what I need. Thanks, fellas! |

Re: Precedent lift project (wish list stage)....
Got another question as I sit here dreamin'.... If I go ahead and upgrade my wires to #2g. (with an eye towards the future for a new controller) could I see any improvements in cart performance just from that? Or should I wait until I'm ready to order the controller? Can't hurt to upgrade the wires now, right?
Thanks, fellas! |

Re: Precedent lift project (wish list stage)....
Coldbeer,
First off, I love the name! My cart is stock electrically so I went with 22"s to avoid a new controller, wires, motor. Still have enough torque to get it into the back of the pick up truck. The picture tells the story. I would have put on 23's for appearance, all things considered. |
