2 ply vs 4 ply
I just received my 23/10/12 XLT all trail tires. I assumed they were 4 ply but they're 2 ply. No fault of the vendor, the ply rating wasn't advertised
After doing some research this tire was purposly built for pavement use. Can I still go offroad with these without having to worry ? I won't be beating and banging but I want to conquer a few rough trails with this cart. It's a G9 with 23hp vanny |

Re: 2 ply vs 4 ply
I personaly went with 4 ply because i didnt want to have to worry about sticks or anything gettin in side my tires where they shouldnt be. But its up to you....they will work fine but just remember that they are more prone to puncture

Re: 2 ply vs 4 ply
4 ply would be better but I have never had a problem with 2 ply.

Re: 2 ply vs 4 ply
I had a guy with 2 ply lawn traction style tires and he had punctures all the time, its a wooded area mostly. I have trailpros and I think they are 3 ply but are ATV rated, ran over anything you can think of short of an ice pick and never had a problem. I've climbed over wood piles with it, RR tracks, lots of roots and branches on the trails even stumps, rocks and gravel, down roadsides, etc. Things are near indestructible. I can let all the air out and drive the cart around, though they will get flat after they sit a while with no air....which of course I don't do lol. I was told 2 ply are for road or sand, if you offroad/etc you might get a hole in them. I also was on a cart with cheap knobby 22 2 ply and thought they would roll off the rims they were so soft in the sidewalls, mine are very stable even carving corners at 25mph on tight trails. They don't have any sway in them really but I also have 8x8 wheels not 7 wide like some do, yes they are 8" wheel even and still stiff.

Re: 2 ply vs 4 ply
I think it depends on how they are built, I could stand on these tires with no rim and they would hold me up. A lawn tire I can crush with my hands. The softer tires will ride softer, I run fire roads and 4x4 trails so I was worried about punctures and wanted an ATV tire. I bought these in '99 and they are still going. One the lug nuts came loose one time it started to knock, I quick tightened them, that one leaks a little have to fill it about every 3-4 weeks. IIRC there are no tubes in them.

Re: 2 ply vs 4 ply
Are we talking tires or TP here If it's TP 4 ply is softer and keeps your fingers clean If it is tires 4 ply is my preference. 2 ply can puncture easier and 6 ply is too stiff....

Re: 2 ply vs 4 ply
Now I have to go find out what ply my TP is? Lol! Just saying these ATV 3 ply seem to act like 4 ply. For my trail riding I would never use a non ATV tire, for other uses they might be fine.
