Tire opinions
I recently put a Jake's 6" spindle lift on my EZGO Sport 2. I am wondering if I should put a 23 or 24" tire on my cart. I can fit the 24" tire with no problem I am just concerned with overloading the motor (speed and torque) Will it make a difference or should I stick with the 23"?
I am looking at the GBC Dirt Devil and the Interco Swamp Lite tires. Opinions? |

Re: Tire opinions
A 27 inch tire is a huge tire on a cart, regardless of motor size. I wouldn't want to out that much wear and tear on mine. I do so much with my cart is why I am having a tough time deciding on what size and which tire to get. I use it in the yard and on my Father-in-law's cattle farm everyday, I hunt off it and ride in the woods almost every weekend, but I am also on the road some as well and don't want my tires to wear out quickly.
Can anyone who has run the GBC Dirt Devil's tell me how they wear with moderate use on pavement? |

Re: Tire opinions
I can't speak for the pavement thing. I would guess they wear out fast like most good off road tires do on asphalt. But you are correct about the size Stock motors are not made to take the extra loads a really big tire will put on them. I have 25" with 25hp pushing them. Can't imagine how disappointing a 27" tire would be with a worn out 9hp engine pushing them.
I think you are up against the age old problem, There is no perfect off road tire that is also good on the street. You compromise or Drive on the shoulder of the road if there is one |

Re: Tire opinions
That's what I was thinking. The most I drive on pavement is about 1 mile if that, so it may not be too bad. I am off-road more than on, so I am thinking just bite the bullet and go with the dirt devils, I can get the 23" for $260 shipped.
