Jakes 3 in spindle lift
Does anyone have a closeup pic of a jakes spindle I am thinking about my next cart and It may be a low rider but was wondering if I could take the 4 bolts off that hold the spindle and put the spindle on the other side so that I could lower the front instead of lift it thanks

Re: Jakes 3 in spindle lift
Only problem I would see is bolting the steering arm up. you may have to customize that a little bit in order for it to bolt back up

Re: Jakes 3 in spindle lift
Let me qualify this before I start by saying I've never attempted what you're trying to do. Having said that, If I'm looking at the spindles correctly in the photos Scottyb posted, it looks like you could simply turn the spindle over and swap the steering arms by removing the 4 bolts: Remove left arm from left spindle, remove right arm from right spindle, flip spindles over to make them drops instead of lifts, put left arm on right spindle and put right arm on left spindle. The holes appear to be evenly spaced. The arms look like they'd be in the same position for link up to the rest of the steering linkage.

Re: Jakes 3 in spindle lift
free spirit that is exactly what I was thinking in my head
I have just not seen a club car that was lowered by spindles, all that I have seen is people that have dearched the spring which is ok but with the jakes kit it looks like it moves the wheel forward and that would help with rubbing issues associated with lowering a clubcar's front wheels on the rear of the front wheel well |

Re: Jakes 3 in spindle lift
Give it a try, take pics, and post your progress. Maybe you'll be the pioneer of a new lowering method
