A golf cart with 44s, now that is living large lol! That thing is awesome. All the car engine 4wd builds are so cool, that is serious fabrication. I used to know a guy that made lifted trucks to run dunes, and I mean he would build his own frame and suspension. Most of them the floor was 4' high. Keep at it DsZ71, you need to enjoy that thing soon instead of working on it.

Ah sorry an auto box is just a front wheel drive automatic trany with the differential welded up to create a live axle it removes the need for a transfer case and gets rid of about 200#'s of weight.

Mine is a VW diesle mid to early 80's but I would'nt recomend it parts are to scarce now. The next one I build is gonna be a Hatz diesle (air cooled) and it will have a veriable hydrolic pump drive (no drive shafts ) my drive shafts were the deciding factor on this buggy as to how high I can go before I bind the Cv's. and this should drop even more weight.( I like the floater buggys.)

Cool Re: my slightly modded Golf cart...

This one was at our last CAW ride and should be back in July.
Full 4x4 samurai running gear! Very cool cart and it pulled a lot of carts this weekend.
