Re: Putting Larger Tires On A G9
You will have to trim the rocker panels front and rear, that should do it.

You can notch the rockers and bend them in if you like, I think it looks a little neater and they are heavy enough to stay put......

The 22"-11 x 10" Goodyears that I installed where rubbing and hitting at every bump on mine, so I could just imagine what 23" tires would do. I decided not to mess with the rocker panel and am in the process of relocating the rear swing arm down and back. Its a little bit of work, but will worth it for me.

Re: Putting Larger Tires On A G9
I have cut the rocker only in front of the rear maybe 2" or nearly to the plastic in there, also slit the plastic and tied it back away from the tire. Right now with the 22s I have at 15psi they measure 23 tall (they grow in center), and they are maybe 0.5" from hitting the front and the rear. Any larger tire I'd have to cut off the frame and mount the rear bumper some other way. In that case yes, I'd move the cradle back and change the rear bumper and not mod in front of the tire anymore. Higher lift will not help much, a big tire just won't fit in there front to rear. My front fits fine and might take a 24" as is, but I built the lift and moved the arms forward about 2" it is not bought. I also stood the rear shocks upright more to make them stiffer, to carry a load in the box. And if I fill it or two heavy guys on back it will still rub the tires, they rub the body in front of tire and that has been trimmed too. But that is about as much weight as I want on it, it will pull the front if I floor it. Note that sitting on the box it ends just beyond the bumper, not like a rear seat.
