Default New and needing advice

Like i stated in the title i am very new at this. Meaning i have never owned a golf cart, just fourwheelers and my mini truck. Anyways my question is im looking into buying a early 90's club car with new batterys. they are wanting 600 for it. It only has two seats and the body looks ok coming from the pictures they had and they said it ran well and they used it on their farm. My question is how would i go about lifting this cart? I want to stay around 1300 or less for my total project, which includes cart, lift, and tires. Plus the materals it will take to build a flip flop seat and sun top (which i have the ablilty to build my own). So is this a good cart? would a z lift or A-arm lift do better? What size stock rims do these carts usually have? Any comments and advise would be appreciated, thanks.

A early 90s CC can be either resistor coils or speed controller drive system. But it will be underpowered for a lift kit big tires and a flip seat and hunting... count on a power upgrade or solid state conversion.

Go to cartpartsplus or tntgolfcart and price what you will need, its expensive for most electric upgrades.

I think you will need to rethink your $1300 range for cart and upgrades.
Rough numbers:
Cart $600
Controller $500
Cables $100
Lift $200-$300
Tires and/or wheels $200-$800
Rear Seat $500
Sun top $200
Total $2400-$3100

I'm going to fabricate my own seat and top, as far as the controller, why do I need one of those?

It handles the power you run into the motor, if you want more power you need a controller capable of handling the higher volts/amps. Stock cart is pretty weak and large tires gear it up, it will go faster on the level but less power than now on hills and sand/etc.
