Default Clutch engagement RPM? I want about 2000.

I'm trying to make the most out of the torque from the 295 in my EZ GO.
I already changed the belt to a Goodyear 71113.
I'm afraid to try messing with the driven, since I don't think it will come peacefully (rust)

So that leaves the drive clutch.
I added a spring out of a sprinkler to the existing spring. Just guessing, it added about 1/3 more pressure. Not much change.

Added a spring from a grease gun in with the stock spring for about double the OEM spring pressure. Engages about 1500 RPM.

I'd figure at double the spring pressure, I'd be winding up pretty good before it kicks in.

I guess next up is lightening the weights, but I don't have any info on how to go about it and get it right the first time.

I just want to give this 295 a fighting chance against the 23" TruPowers. I can't even get them to spin and clean out in mud.

ETA: with the double strength spring set up, it won't run all the way up to top gear. It only makes about 75% closed.

Found the problem with not going all the way to full close.
Got it straightened out now but am still disappointed by the results.

Engage ~1600
Full close ~3600

It seems like spring rate has a minimal impact on clutch operation.

I could type you a 38 page book about spring tension, weight of ramps and ramp profile.
Paw around for Aaens clutch tuning book.

Hmmmm, this thread may become irrelevant.
May be more concerned with torque limitations of the drivetrain soon.......

Might need some better fender coverage too.
