Default 6" Isn't enough !

Okay, So I've had my G9 for a few months now. Installed the All Sports 6" lift kit and 22" tires. Just recently returned from a bike ralley where I saw some awsome carts running around, some of them with some outragous lifts in them! But the ones that caught my eye were the ones that looked to be about 8" to 10" of lift with 23 - 25" tires. I've already dropped and moved the rear swing arm back, so pretty sure I can use shock extensions to get me a few more inches in the rear. Not sure how I'm going to lift the All Sport suspension, but first guess would be fabbing up some drop plates. I'm looking for pic's or idea's if someone has done this before. If not, I'll post pic's as I go here.

I had the same problem (6" not enough) so I fabricated a drop bracket with removable kick struts that gave 9 more inches for a total of 15 inches of lift. It was neccessary to lift the front that much to level the front end with the rear VW IRS. Here is a link to my build thread:

The system is super strong and works perfectly on or off road

Anything over 6" will be top heavy if you off road or drive side ways on mountain sides. But to each his own...

Good luck on your decision.

Mike Mac has a good point, I widened my front end 6 inches in addition to the long travel kit. The rear is still wider than the front which makes the cart seem very stable, but it's not anything close to an "off the shelf" set up.

Thats a fact, wider is just as important as lift if your using it on trails. Id never go over 6 inches but thats me. Ill bet most of those superlifted carts dont ever go off road.

Good point, I defeniatly need to widen the track out if I lift this. I don't do any off roading. Just mainly around our 6 acre yard and a few dirt roads down to my neighbors. Looking for a better stance right now.... maybe if I widen the track out first the current lift will look okay. thanks for the input!

Im only basing what Im saying from experience. If you look at the rock crawling vehicles, they are usually wide vs. excessively tall. I dont like mud so Im not worried about having it up high like those mud trucks.

I still say, 6" is max! Other cars are built with low center gravity. Golf cars are as well, until we do what we do to them. Wider makes them safer, but then impairs them for off road use. I wish Jakes made a 4", that you could get these tires under. I had to hold my car up one time out in the mountains, picking up rocks with a trailer on the back.
Anyway, they are cute way up, just be careful! Mike

Ive got 2 inch billet spacers all the way around and 3x4 offset rims in the front.Im right at 50 inchs wide, which is the max for APV trails in Ohio. Im good on trails but wouldnt go any wider.
