Default Re: stainless steal vs 5 grade bolts...

Hey Turf1,

I also installed a 8" lift a couple of months ago. The rear leafs came with no hardware and my old stuff was really shot. Not thinking I bought 4ea grade 2 bolt's and used them for about 2 month's. I was using the cart alot and also had atleast 500lb on the back. Nothing broke luckly and just the other day I changed them all to grade 5. Those SS bolt's will work fine.

You are right , all bolts are not the same , grade 5 from china seems like a grade 2 USA , they are some really cheap bolts out there ----------I used to work at a crane manufacturing company , every bolt we used to build the cranes had to be " traceable " , they had paper work on them as to where they came from , what specs they were certified to , what lot they came from out the plant , etc , etc --------------

It's fun..you just have to know your own limits... not to go into too deep of mud or watery mud... the clutch and belt will slip..good times, camping, beer, mud, grilling, its all what you make of it..
