its a stretch that i might be working that way soon but thanks for the invite. there are no activities around here like that that im aware of. might be though. hope to have an answer from my shop tomorrow.

do you know what functions are "programmable" on a controller? do you order a "650 amp controller", for example, or is it like a controller that fits different applications and has to be programmed for whatever amp is required? im not clear on that. also the 0-5 and 5-0 thing has me somewhat confused. im not sure what those values represent?

Did they give you a quote or anything with Alltrax on it? If it gets ugly "I was under the impression" won't help you much. Good Luck!

Let's hope for good news as far as controllers go, I'm more of a gas guy but with most programmable controllers you can set throttle in put acceleration regen if the cart has it, top speed and all sorts of stuff. To do all that you have to get the software and cable so you can hook it up to your computer and set it up. Most guys that do have it will taylor it to what they like. It takes a little time but you can set it up to your wants and needs. With a non programmable one its set from the factory for all around basic needs. As far as which one to use other than programmable or non I have no clue since I have only setup one electric cart. Robby at Plum Quick actually installed the current motor and controller. He put in a 500A GE controller in my dads cart but then later I make new cables from #2 welding cables then we up graded the solenoid. So now his '04 CC DS IQ cart runs 35mph at the drop of a hat. I still have more plans to beef it up more such as setting it up like a EZGO series cart and running 72V with a 700A controller and even larger wires. Personally I would get in touch with Robby at Plum Quick about your needs. He is top notch and sharp as a whip with these electric carts as anyone who has ever dealt with him will confirm that

its ok, but it needs more torque. but keep Robby in mind if you cart man doesnt make good on the deal. im sure someone will zap up the controller thats in your cart which will help with upgrading to a Alltrax

the owner handed me off to a sales rep/manager. not really sure what his title is but anyway, i explained my situation and he started by telling me alltrax doesent make a controller for a series cart???

Although frustrated at that, i proceded to remind him that a little over a year ago, they installed the AXE4865 (alltrax 650 amp for series) that i wanted onto my fathers cart and i gave him the model number that i got from the alltrax site.

he called back and said he has to order it and it will be in at the end of the week. I dont choose to believe he is dishonest but maybe just deals more with the business end of things vs knowing alot of the technical info. Hopefully, i will have the right controller this week. He said the one i have (pictured earlier in this thread) is a GE but to me, its still an unmarked remanufactured part that i just dont feel comfortable with.
