Default Is "Nivel" a quality controller for Club Car?

Just got my new to me CC series cart with a lift and a 11.4 hp GE D395 motor. I was under the impression this shop installed a 650 amp alltrax controller with the package i bought to be installed on it.

After removing the rear fenders to paint, i got a good look at the controller and noticed its a used Nivel 5k-0, 700 amp, 48v controller.

Should i ask the shop about this or is this an equal or better controller for this application? Thanks for any information.

Also, the FNR switch is a HD and appears new but the solenoid is the original CC one. Will this be a problem?

Rumor has it that that is a standard AXE4865 controller. Nivel buys their controls from Alltrax and asks them to put the bigger label on it .

great. dont know how i will argue that with him.

i searched the Nivel site and saw what looks exactly like this control in appearance and the description. Its advertised to be a "rebuilt" 700 amp controller.

Arent you a vender? If i send you this controller and a standard club car solenoid, will you make me a deal on a new 650 amp alltrax controller and a HD solenoid?

If it looks like this it's NOT an Alltrax. The equal or better argument well....I myself would pitch a fit and demand what I paid for. The AXE is in my opinion a much better controller.

You say, "under the impression" did they tell you it would be an Alltrax? If so, I'd definately get the Alltrax if for no other reason the warranty.

Yes i was told that by the owner over the phone. It was an informal conversation about motor types then it lead to that. My only concern is he may tell me that at their discretion, they may use a comparable yet different brand without giving notification. I just bought a performance package and the brand i suppose is their choice unless otherwise discussed.

The cart he built for my father that has the same package has an alltrax so between that and him telling me thats the one they use led me to assume thats what i would get, without the need for me to specify.

the one installed is the exact one pictured above. it has no identification whatsoever on it except for a Nivel sticker on the back. I have no clue of its original brand. After reading on this forum for a couple months, i definately want a new alltrax, not a used reman from nivel.

I hope he will exchange me with the alltrax. if i must pay a reasonable difference then i am willing to do that as long as its within reason. im sure its worth more than the one i currently have. just a little frustrated right now because i seem to have bad luck with success in situations like these.

I would simply let them know that you would prefer a new Alltrax controller based on your previous expirience and information you have recieved from trusted sources. See what they say?
If they are reasonable, you have said you worked with them before. They should try to make you happy......

Good luck.
