Advice on a Lift...about to buy
Hello all.... I have a 97 ezgo txt and am looking to lift it for hunting. Ive decided to go with a 5 or 6 inch lift and 22 in tires..i dont know brand nor do i know what size wheel...i know i want offset black wheels but dont know where to begin as far as which brand of lift? or tires? or where to find a great combo wheel/tire? any help from you experienced folks would be great...cant wait to get it up there and load up the dog...

Re: Advice on a Lift...about to buy
What kind of budget are you working with?
spindle lifts are the least expensive. jakes is a good brand 6" $300 longtravel is a actual suspension lift but a little more expensive $750 you can get a 10" steel wheel and 22" at tire for around $400. is the cart elec or gas. I would be glade to give you a quote when your ready. |

Re: Advice on a Lift...about to buy
Just put a 5" lift in my cart, so I've been looking around for tires also. Here are two sets I was considering:
http://www.everythingcarts.com/p-315...nger-side.aspx 22X11X10 $360 a set. Free shipping. http://www.eccustomgolfcarts.com/10x...re-p-1240.html 20X11X10 $356 a set. Free shipping. ........but I decided to go with a 6-ply tire on an aluminum wheel from http://trademarkcarts.com/product/52...0-tires-stat8s |

Re: Advice on a Lift...about to buy
I have a long travel from Jakes on my cart but that's a little pricey, go with a 5 inch drop axle lift with some carlisle at 489 tires. That's a great setup and is a lot better than drop spindle lifts. If you might be in muddy conditions stay away from those all trail type tires as they will turn into big heavy mudballs. The 489 has a nice chunky tread that works great off or on road.

Re: Advice on a Lift...about to buy
does the drop axel offer just as much ground clearance as the spindle?

Re: Advice on a Lift...about to buy
not really, but ground clearence is measured by the lowest point which will be your rear axle. if your going off roading, go with the drop axle. ive seen a few spindle lifts break. its not common for them to break, but ive seen a few that did. the worst thing to happen with a drop axle is you might bend it, but you will still get back home.
