Re: lifting a 84 yamaha G1A
Ok;;need to give more information as to my use for cart;;;i will be using mainly to pull my fuel altered[drag car] back to pits after a run..i'll be adding a rear seat for 2 more pass. And there will be a 12 volt car battery on rear bumper for start batt. For race car..not looking for a off road look .just a nice look and so i can put some custom wheels on it;;hope this extra information helps decide what i need to do as to lift//extra weight and what size wheels and tires to get..hopping to get wheels and tires first

Re: lifting a 84 yamaha G1A
Here are a few pics of my 1983 G1 with a custom made 2 inch lift. Its not a massive lift but enough to look better than stock. I put some 18 inch atv tires on it. I just bought a 1984 G1 and put the same lift on it. Im hoping to stuff some 20 inch turf tires on that one. Oh and check out the custom made rear seat.

TO Field6565 : HELLO, I am restoring a 79 Yamaha G1 and was trying to figure out how to do a rear seat, that is one of the BEST rear seats I have seen. Could you describe how you did it for us? Love the arm rests

Re: lifting a 84 yamaha G1A
Hi. In the DESIGN CENTER of this forum you will find a sticky.. CUSTOM REAR SEAT BUILD. This is what i used for the base of my rear seat. The armrest are made out of 1 inch black steel pipe with flat bar steel welded together and the tops are just miniture versions of the seats. Then they are bolted to the frame under the body and are very solid. The rear platform for your feet is made out of some old bed frame angle I had laying around. It is welded to the rear bumper support and is very solid. Then I cut a piece of plywood to fit perfectly in place and painted it.
