Default 10" rims vs. 12" rims

I am going to lift my cart soon and I was wondering if there is any difference with having a 10" or 12" rim. If the tire is 22"x11"x__ is the only difference the more or less sidewall?
I was thinking of using a Jakes 5" spindle lift with this size tire.

In general how wide can you go on a cart? would 22x12.5-10 be too wide?

I think 12.5x22s would be too wide and not tall enough on a Workhorse with a 5" lift, I would go with 24x11x10s (just my opinion)

Here's a 5" lift with 24x11x10s on 10x8" wide rims
click on pic to make larger..

Thanks for the info StoveBolt. It is hard to judge what will look good on your cart without seeing it first. The local shops do not have these things in stock so there is no comparing them.
Is the picture in your avatar the same cart with a bigger lift (7") and tires (26")?

And yes the one in my avatar has the 7" lift with Mud Lites (never buy them again) 26x10x12s on the front and 26x12.5x12s on the back, with 12x7" wide rims. Be nice if they made 24x10x10s for the front on a 5" lift, but I don't think they do. http://www.frontiernet.net/~irishhills/wh3.JPG

What 7" lift do you have? BTW I ordered wheels from gateway. Thanks for the info! I went with a 25" Dirt devil though. I already bought a 6" Jakes spindle lift. So I think I need to raise it a 1" . I won't know till the tires get here:)

You might be ok with the jake's, I think they move the front forward a little.

I bought a used LA Concepts 7" tubular axle and made my own blocks for the back, mine is the earlier steering before 2001.5
http://www.laconceptcars.com/ez-go-lift-kits.htm

Also on my ST-350 the springs were already above the axle so the blocks (3") was an easy lift on the back.
