Installing All Sports 6" Super Sport lift kit and Tires
I will soon be installing a 6" All Sports SS lift kit and 23" x 10.5" x 12" Duro tires on a gas 2007 CC DS and want to know if I will need a brake cable extension bracket(s) or longer brake cable(s)? Also I will be installing a clutch spring and am wondering how difficult that is to install and if I will need a special puller to do this? Any tips that may save me some knuckle covering or elbow lubricant through this endeavor will be greatly appreciated!

The lift kit is great. The instructions aren't very detailed. But pay close attention to how you take the cart apart because the lift goes on the same way. You won't need anything for the brakes but the cables hang kinda low. You can swap the side that the brakes are on with flips where the cables go so it helps keep the cables up higher

Thanks blake but I am not sure I follow what you mean by "the flips where the cables go"?

I'm pretty sure Blake meant "clips where the cables go "!
You shouldn't need to extend OR, get new cables with that lift, I however, did need extension brackets because of the additional work I've done. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...-brackets.html |

sorry man, i forgot to respond to you. what i meant was to take the brake assemblys off the axle and swap sides. take the drivers side brake assembly and put it on the passenger side and vise versa. what this will do it put where the cables hook up on top of the axle keeping the cables up higher and dont require any extenders.

Re: Installing All Sports 6" Super Sport lift kit and Tires
Thanks guys! So Don, you don't think I will need to do anything with the brake cables with this lift? Before too long I am probably going to put on an M&M rear seat with the flip up floor board and heavy duty rear springs, would that make any difference with brake cable length and would I be smarter to do this when I do the lift kit? Also which rear springs are better...the three leaf or the four leaf?

You don't have to do anything with the brakes. The cable just hang a little low under the cart. I would take a pic of how the cable are on my dads cart. But by the time I get home its dark and its still on the trailer

I just put that lift on my 96 ds it all went on great and i put hd springs on the rear for the back flip seat i added also i recommend getting new bushings and bolts for the springs since mine were rusted on and cutting them off was easier
then fighting to get them off |

What they said! /\ /\ /\
As for the HD springs, base it on how heavy the the rear passengers will be, as on how many leafs you should have, the heavier the springs, the harder it'll ride when your by yourself! |

Re: Installing All Sports 6" Super Sport lift kit and Tires
I run the 7.5 lift on my big block cart. didn't do anything to the brake cables other than to re adjust them after instalation.
I would recomend swapping the rear springs while you do the lift. much easier. I would also recomend not using a 4 leaf pack on the rear, unless you plan on hauling around a LOT of extra weight. I'v had maybe 1100lbs on the cart and pulling my tag along trailer and didn't seem to be working the spring pack too badly. but that was on road and i don't do that everyday... one tip if your bolts are rusted in the springs; cut through the rubber on each side of the spring with a cut off wheel. it stinks but then the ends fall off and the center comes out with the spring. -Aaron |
