Default Trans Brake

Thinking of putting one on my cart. Anyone ever done this? I was looking other day and i have the transbrake, thinkit would be an easy install. I'm goin to put front disk brakes on my Cushman but its going to take time to do it.

I blew a left wheel cylinder a few weeks ago and now just have right rear brake.

Will the transbrake put to much pressure on my transaxel? I know if it is in neutral i won't have brakes,.......

any thoughts would be appreciated

They used to do that on sleds all the time, some even had a disk on the secondary the old sleds used a pad against it. Look at a 340 yamaha enticer it had a disk on the secondary. It is curved like a shallow cone with no center bolted on. Some old sleds had a wide lip on the outside of the secondary they ran a brake pad against the inside of it. They worked pretty good actually. IIRC the new yamaha drive has some kind of trans brake but it might be inside the trans not seen one yet. Most other sleds used a jackshaft with a disk on that, for ones that made a lot of power the jackshaft setup was stronger. Most late 70s and up did it that way only smaller engines used secondary disks, but I didn't inspect every sled they made then lol.

Here is a little 250 with a clutch that will not close all the way, but you can see the disk once the guy gets done looking at the track.

Are you talking about a line lock that locks your brakes up then you let go of a button and go. A Trans Brake works off of the trans fluid and pressure that locks first and reverse gear together and when you let the button go it stays in first and goes. Just wandering!!!!

well I have a caliper and rotor that i can easily install on my input shaft by my secondary clutch. It's the same that are on some side by sides. Think it came off a Kawi mule. it will work off my master cylinder. I seen what you talking about in a lot of drag cars,.....
