Default lifting an 1989 g2

Hi I have an 1989 g2 Yamaha golf cart that I'm soon going to be lifting. I'm looking at the double a arm 7 inch lift kit that trademark carts have, and also the 12 inch ss112 vampire wheels on 22 inch tires. I was wondering if I will have any problem with them not clearing..... anyone know??? thanks Tim

It only takes about 3" of lift to clear 22s on them long as the front arms are moved forward a little. You may have to trim the rocker/body in front of rear tires. The lift maker should tell you what it fits. Most high lift should fit 23s, not sure about larger the rear bumper is an issue. Most move the engine cradle back a little and change the bumper mounting to fit larger than 23s.

I have 23" tires on my G2 with a 7" allsports lift from CPP. I have no clearance issues at all except the back tires are a little close to the
front of the rear fender.

Like Sho305 said,Move the Swing-Arm back a little, and everything will clear fine.As you lift a swing-arm,it moves the tires forward in an arc,so relocating the swing-arm will put the axle back in center and eliminate fender-clearance issues.Hope this helps.

If I air up my 22s they measure 23, I have cut the rocker and cut and wired back the inner well to clear (ahead of rear tire). I can fit only one finger in front of the tire and one finger behind the tire. Mine is not lifted that high just enough to clear, iirc my floor is 18" high. I built my lift from scratch long ago.

Just the same the maker or selling dealer should know, I'd not be happy with them if they can't supply that information.
