G1 Lift Help - 400ex shocks
I just got a G1 and have some questions. I found an allsports 4" lift for 120 from a local guy and now I have questions regarding shocks. I know the front of the lift drops the a-arms 4" and moves them forward 2". Can I then just bolt in the honda 400ex shocks in the stock location to the arms and have the 4" of lift that I want?
And from what I have read in the rear I can just skip the allsports shock mount re-locators and just bolt in the 400 ex shocks for the 4" lift, is that correct? Thanks for any and all help Wes |

They should bolt up for a 4" lift. When you get the lift in,set the cart on stands at ride-height(wheels straight up,not leaning.)and measure the distance from frame-bracket to axle-bracket.I used them on a G2 last year, but had to drop them down with a 7" lift, but if I remember right it was about 2"-3" that I lowered them,so that would be correct for 4".Hope this helps.

Re: G1 Lift Help - 400ex shocks
They will not bolt up in front but will bolt up in the rear. In fact you might not even need any lift brackets in the rear because the 400ex shocks are 4 or 5 inches longer than the stockers, which will give you a good amount of lift. I used ltz400 shocks which have the same dimensions and it worked out good. Now for the front, you'll have to fab a top mount bracket to get the longer shocks to work.
Do a search on the site for "G1" and sort through and you'll find lots of guys that have done this with great success. |

The site wont let you search for g1 so that's why I had to start a new thread. Thanks for the help.

Did a quick search, here's some good ones. When you do a search you have to use quotation marks. Like "G1 lift" or "G1 shocks" or "G1 engine" or "G1 tires". I did a search on "G1 lift" and came up with a dozen or more threads.

Looks like you'll be busy having fun. I like the skinny tire idea ! You also might want to consider a Plowman's secondary clutch kit, belt, and jet kit, will give you better acceleration and low end pull. Made a big diff on my cart. |

Where did you get your jet kit from? I have been looking and can't find any for the G1. Ill look into getting the plowmans clutch kit once I see how it performs with the lift and tires.
Thanks Wes |
