Default ??'s re. front brake & stock wheel for long-travel

I have an '89 CC DS electric I want to install an All-Sports 6" long-travel lift kit on. Can I use my stock wheels with this kit or do I need to save more $ for a wheel/tire combo? Does the lift affect braking in itself.... I know I need to get front brakes when I get bigger tires. Terry

This is a good assumption. larger tires have more leverage against your braking system, reducing the brakes ability to bring your cart to a stop. You will also have more rotating mass, and more weight with the lift kit which can add to the reduced braking effect. As for using the stock wheels and tires (8 inch?) I have no clue. You may likely have to upgrade wheel size to fit a disk front brake system. Sounds like you have the right Ideas to me, maybe someone else can chime in about the lift/wheel question. Good luck with your build!

Granted, I'm gonna get larger wheels and tires eventually, just wondered if I could roll on the stock rims for awhile? Terry

i am fairly certain you cannot use stock wheels on an allsport lift. this is do to the offset. a quick message to the supplier you plan on buying them from would confirm this?

as far as brakes; to the best of my knowledge you cannot run front brakes with a ss lift without modding the spindle itself.

I do see that Jakes just released a knock off of this design. they do offer a front brake kit. they MIGHT be able to do this type lift with a brake package?
