Default Trying to decide between an EZ go and a Yamaha (both gas)

Hey everyone! I am looking at getting my first cart. Trying to decide between a 2003 Ez go and a 2003 Yamaha G22, asking around the same price. I am going to lift it as soon as I get it. Looking for some help in making my decision. Any brand better than the other. It Will need to push around a double jet ski trailer, does one or the other have more power on the low end? Any help on the pros and cons of each is appreciated.

An electric is much easier for pushing/ pulling loads. The accelerator is much smoother and the cart is heavier. Any functional cart should move a trailer with Jet Skis on it. If you want to find the limit of what a stock cart can push or pull, hook it up to an 8,000# platform pump and drag it around the rail yard. That is about all the work a cart wants. I'm an EZGO guy myself, but any of the major players should be fine.

Its really a matter of preference. Most places we camp and trail ride are filled with Waco's, but we've had stock Yamaha's go through were they get stock. Either cart has the after market supply so mods are easy and reasonable. I'm a Yamaha guy and won't change that lol.

Interesting you say that about electric carts, you pull an 8k platform with a stock electric golf cart controller and motor?, and never had a failure? That's amazing to me.

I've smoked a couple of lugs off the 2ga cables at the FNR, and I imagine my controller isn't far from failing, as the case is wretchedly warped. But for the time I spent beating on it, nothing happened that I couldn't repair relatively quickly and get it back in action. The FNR did cease functioning shortly after I got the cart operational after buying it, but a thorough cleaning, Dremel polishing and liberal slathering of dielectric grease fixed that, too. I believe the original motor is on the shady side of dead, as it just does not like inclines anymore. I replaced it last week with a D&D 8hp built in a limo can. Much improvement!
